The company has invested over 30 man-years in the development and validation of hybrid welding technologies and applications.

The sound scientific understanding of the underlying process, including extensive computational modeling and numerous processing trials, reflect the company’s commitment to ensure that customers get only exceptional product performance from their investment in the Super-MIG® and Weldone™ hybrid welding technologies.
High Cooling Capacity (HCC) Super-MIG® system installed at a major Swedish company (May, 2010)

The HCC system has been installed by PLTs Swedish distributor - COREMA - at the production facility of a major Swedish manufacturer of Stainless Steel Pressure Tanks for the medical equipment industry. The installation took place following a series of tests, performed at COREMAs laboratory for developing the most suitable welding parameters for the system, which is substituting an older standard MIG system.

First 3 Heavy Duty systems installed (June, 2010)

Three Super-MIG® Heavy Duty systems - PLTs new hybrid welding system, aimed at welding of thick materials and joints of up to 40-50mm, - are being installed in Germany (at a major shipbuilding compamy), Norway (at an off-shore Oil & Gas pipes integrator) and China (at PLTs distributors laboratory in Chengdu, Sechuan province). These are the first Heavy Duty systems which have been installed for production purposes.

Introducing the Heavy Duty Super-MIG® hybrid welding system (October, 2009)

In October, 2009, PLT has announced the launch of its Heavy Duty system, intended to weld high thickness sections between 10mm and 40mm. The system uses a 400amp of Plasma power and 650amp of MIG/MAG power, and tops in its performance all known welding parameters achieved with current technologies (such as SAW, Tandem or Twin Wire and even Laser in certain applications), regarding speed, penetration, work-piece deformation and cleanliness of weld.

Carl Lixfeld GmbH & Co.KG, Siegen, is acting as PLT's exclusive German Distributor

The century-old company has 32 employees, and is engaged in sale, service and re-furbishment of welding equipment and accessories, such as welding robots, power supplies, etc.

Lixfeld is located in the industrial heart of Germany, and handles the distribution of PLT's Super-MIG® both by means of direct sales and through local dealers.

PLT’s German distributor has installed a Super-MIG® Heavy Duty system at a major shipbuilding company (May, 2010)

Carl Lixfeld Gmbh, of Siegen, who is PLT’s German distributor, has recently installed the first Super-MIG®  Heavy Duty system at one of Germany’s leading Shipbuilding companies in northern Germany. The system consists of a Heavy Duty Super-MIG® system, capable of welding very long and continuous welds, which is a major and important pre-requisite in this type of manufacturing environment.
